DR. CARL FREDRICKSON

Director

Carl Fredrickson is the President of Carl Fredrickson and Associates, credit union research and planning consultants. Carl has worked in the credit union movement since 1980.

Dr. Fredrickson facilitates strategic planning sessions for credit unions of all types. As one of the creators of the CUNA & Affiliates Environmental Scan, his planning sessions cover a wide range of issues, including financial projections and the impact of external events on operations. Dr. Fredrickson is an active speaker, teacher and author on credit union topics. He has published hundreds of articles on credit union issues.

Carl was the Faculty Director for the Southwest CUNA Management School from 1995 to 2006. In this capacity he taught courses on strategic planning, market research, and on selected financial issues facing credit unions. He also supervised the strategic and financial plans developed by students as part of their graduation requirements.

Prior to forming Carl Fredrickson & Associates, Dr. Fredrickson was Director of Market Research at CUNA & Affiliates. He was the creator of the national survey which CUNA & Affiliates continues today under the title of The National Member Survey. He also conducted the widely-used Credit Union Magazine compensation surveys.

Carl holds a Ph.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and was a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin and the University of Minnesota.
